When People Hate On Talented Musicians and Singers

Ive seen this time and time again online on social media. People hating on talented musicans and singers and encouraging bad singers and people with no talent which make them become delusional into thinking they are actually good. It almost seems like a jealousy and revenge thing against actual talented people! Why does this happen here is my thoughts on this!

People are mean to musicians online because the internet rewards negativity, and mediocre acts get high engagement through shock value, controversy, and algorithmic amplification.

  • Online anonymity: People say harsh things behind a screen because they face no real-world consequences.
  • Easy access: Fans can talk directly to artists now, which destroys the old wall of mystery and respect.
  • Envy and bitterness: Unhappy people often tear down others who chase their dreams or achieve success.
  • Negativity bias: Negative comments stand out more and feel more powerful to the human brain than praise.

Why “Bad” Musicians Get More Engagement

  • Rage bait: Bad performances make people angry, and anger drives comments, shares, and arguments.
  • The trainwreck effect: People love to rubberneck at a disaster out of morbid curiosity.
  • Algorithmic boost: Social media apps measure engagement, not quality. Arguments and mockery push a video into more feeds.
  • Shared mockery: Laughing at a bad singer makes people feel connected to a larger inside joke or community.
